A Question of Sport

Ameo’s practice leads returned today from a very enjoyable night at this year’s Wiltshire Business and Sports Gala Dinner.  This is a very worthwhile event which helps raise money and awareness for the county’s future Olympic stars.  We enjoyed great company, inspirational speeches by Mark Colbourne and Phil de Glanville, and a chance to meet a fascinating mix of business leaders and sports personalities.

To cap it all, we received this message from our friend, Stan Matthews, on our return.

“My granddaughter, Lucy-Jane, and I were seated with members of Ameo at the Wiltshire Business and Sports Gala Dinner in Trowbridge last night.  I had the pleasure of sitting next to Nick, and Lucy was next to Darren.  We were extremely well included in the spirit of the night.  All those at the table were keen to hear about Lucy’s progress in the Wiltshire Council Future Olympians programme.  It is the generosity of companies like yours that makes it possible for Lucy and others to work and train to reach their goal.  In Lucy’s case, she wants to be a pentathlete and proudly wear the GB vest.  She is on her way!

Please pass on my thanks to all those at the table who made us so welcome at a great evening.”

Our pleasure, Stan!  We wish you and Lucy-Jane all the very best.
